Carla Andriola Patel, of West Orange, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on February 7, 2022, surrounded by her children. Carla was born and raised in the Vailsburg section of Newark, NJ. After high school, she moved to California, returning to West Orange to raise her family. Carla was a member of the fundraising and development department of Saint Barnabas Medical Center for 25 years, dedicating her career to helping people and bringing the community together. She was most recently the Director of Development for the Capuchin Friars in Union City, NJ. Their mission to help people and spread the word of God aligned very deeply with her personal life.

Carla was admired for her genuine care for her family and friends. She had the ability and compassion to connect with people to ease their fears and smooth their concerns, filling every room with joy and laughter. She was cherished by so many for her kindness and positive spirit.

Carla was predeceased by her parents, Daniel and Carol Andriola and is survived by her son Cody, daughter Jenna, brother Thomas, nephew Blaise, beloved cat, Annie, and a large and close group of devoted cousins and friends. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 am on Monday, February 14, 2022, at Our Lady of the Lake Church, Verona. Donations can be made in Carla’s memory to The Capuchin Friars, P.O.
