Obituary for Ciro Di Marco

Di MARCO, Ciro, age 77, of Garfield, died on April 20, 2022. Born and raised in Belmonte Mezzango, Sicily-Italy for 23 years, he emigrated to the United States living in Garfield 15 years and Elmwood Park 36 years settling back in Garfield one year ago. He was a machine operator 22 years for the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission in Newark retiring in 2007 and he previously owned and operated Ciro’s Cabinets in Garfield for 15 years making furniture and custom cabinets. Ciro served in the Italian Army, was a parishioner of St. Anne’s RC Church in Fair Lawn, a member of the Garfield Democratic Club and the New Jersey Pistol Club in Jefferson. He was an avid hunter, gardener, and bird breeder. Ciro is predeceased by his parents, Girolomo and Giuseppina. He is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Agnes (nee Tumminia), three loving children, Josephine Niemiec and husband Kenneth, Jerome Di Marco, and Anthony Di Marco, five adored grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew, Kenneth, Jr., Julia, and Clarissa, and three dear siblings, Giovanni Di Marco and wife Giuseppina, Agnes Di Marco and husband Salvatore Allotta, and Giuseppina Di Marco and husband Giuseppe Asciutto. Visiting Friday 4 to 8 pm. The funeral is Saturday, April 23, 2022, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 8:30 am followed by a 9:30 am mass at St. Anne’s RC Church, Fair Lawn. Entombment Calvary Cemetery, Paterson. In lieu of flowers the family will accept memorial gifts in Ciro’s name to the American Cancer Society.
