SEDITA, Ignazio, age 88, of Garfield, died on September 27, 2022. Born in Alessandria della Rocca, Sicily-Italy, he emigrated to the United States in 1966 settling in Garfield 56 years ago. He was a landscaper while also working construction over 30 years with Barsan Bishop Construction in Hackensack retiring in 1996, continuing his landscaping business an additional five years. Ignazio was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Virgin RC Church, Garfield, and an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He is predeceased by his siblings, Concetta Scaglione, Assunta Rizzolo, Antonio Sedita, Felice Sedita, and Giuseppe Sedita. Ignazio is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Alfonsa (nee Militello), two loving twin daughters, Maria McIvor and husband Christopher and JoAnn Santulli and husband Vincent, and four adored grandchildren, Christopher, Julia, Alexandra, and Matthew. Visiting Friday 4 to 8 pm. The funeral is Saturday, October 1, 2022, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 8 am followed by a 9 am mass at Our Lady of Mt. Virgin RC Church, Garfield. Entombment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Saddle Brook. In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations for the Alzheimer's Association.
