MARTORANO, Marilyn, age 75, of Wayne, died on January 15, 2023. Born in Passaic, Marilyn was raised in Garfield settling in Wayne 24 years ago. Marilyn was an educator for 40 years with the Garfield Board of Education working her way up the ranks and retiring as Principal of the Garfield Middle School in 2009. She was a member of the NJEA and the Garfield Education Association serving on the Executive Board and the Negotiating Team. She was a parishioner of Mt. Virgin Church in Garfield and was on the Condo Association where she lived. She is predeceased by her faithful canine companion, Jake in 2022, her parents, Frank and Concetta Martorano, and her brother, Frank Martorano. She is survived by two sisters, Catherine Jackson and husband George, Mary Grace Martorano and wife Ginny, a sister-in-law, Joanne Martorano, her beloved nieces and nephews, Karen Jackson, Michael Jackson, Sr., George Jackson (Lisa), Lisa Sundel (Stephen), Eileen and Nancy Martorano, and she adored her great nieces and great nephews, Alyssa Skurteski (Nick), Michael Jackson, Jr. (Samantha Zarro), “My # 1 Boy” Matthew Jackson, Laura Jackson Rachel Jackson, Jenna Sundel and Ryan Sundel. Visiting Wednesday 3 to 7 pm. The funeral is Thursday, January 19, 2023, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 10 am followed by a 11 am mass at Our Lady of Mt. Virgin RC Church, Garfield.
