PORFIDO, Mario, age 83, of Woodland Park, died on January 21, 2023. Born and raised in San Potito Ultra, Avellino, Italy for 35 years, Mario moved to Switzerland five years before emigrating to the United States. In America, he lived in Hoboken 20 years and Garfield 13 years settling in Woodland Park 10 years ago. He was a butcher over 30 years for Green Tree Packing in Passaic retiring in 2009, he was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Virgin RC Church in Garfield, and was a member of Club Roma in Woodland Park and the United Food and Commercial Workers Union - Locals 174 and 464 in Little Falls. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Maria (nee Carrino) in 2014, and his siblings, Mafalda Porfido, Michelé Porfido and Pellegrino Porfido. Mario is survived by two dear sisters, Letizia Porfido and Angelina Bruno and husband Pasquale, and many loving nieces and nephews. Visiting Tuesday 3 to 6 pm. The funeral is Wednesday, January 25, 2023, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 8 am followed by a 9 am mass at Our Lady of Mt. Virgin RC Church, Garfield.
