Obituary for Rose Russo (Ciliento)

RUSSO, Rose “Rosie” (nee Ciliento), age 85, of Garfield, died on January 25, 2023. Born and raised in Wallington for 24 years, Rose settled in Garfield 61 years ago. She was a real estate agent for Weichert Realtors in Butler before retiring, was previously an administrative assistant for 30 years with S. Rossine Drywall in Pequannock and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Virgin RC Church, Garfield. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 42 years, Thomas in 2004, and two siblings, Anthony and Florence Ciliento. She is survived by her two loving children, Thomasine and Rosario Russo, and five dear siblings, James Ciliento and wife Marion, Thomas Ciliento, Helen Mailot, Carole Ciliento, and Theresa DeGroat and husband Chris. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews, her adopted daughters, Jen-Jen and Jerilyn and adoring cat, Mikey. A fun loving and feisty independent woman, Rosie would do anything for those she loved. She loved to feed everyone and always had a pot of coffee or gravy on. She liked to spend money but never wanted to pay full price. Rosie was never going to be one of those sweet little “old” Italian ladies you see, she dropped F-bombs like they were going out of style.
