Obituary for John A. Zoda

John A.  Zoda
ZODA, John A., age 83, of Clifton, died on July 23, 2011. Born in Lodi, he lived in Garfield for 20 years, Hawthorne for 25 years and Clifton the past 38 years. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War decorated with the Army of Occupation Medal. Employed as a factory worker for 35 years by Continental Can in Passaic and then Unifoil in Fair Lawn, he retired in 1991. He was an amateur boxer with The Golden Gloves Boxing Club in Passaic, and a member of the NJ Association Amateur Athletic Union. He is predeceased by his wife, Phyllis Zoda in 1999, his daughter, Joan Moore-Snyder in 1987, and his grandson, Michael Moore in 2006. He is survived by two daughters, Lois Moulier and her husband Ervin, and Judie Ackerman and her husband Danny, a sister, Anne Zoda, and two grandchildren, David Moore and Mitchell Astete. The funeral is Tuesday, July 26, 2011, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 10 am followed by a 11 am chapel service. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Saddle Brook. Visiting Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Zoda family is in the care of the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., Garfield (973-340-7077). Condolences/Directions visit aloiafuneral.com
