1996 we met Rose the first time in NYC. Till 2008 we visited her nearly every two years and each time she surprised us with a new hairstyle. But her humanity and creativity and her friendly, humorous and warmhearted character were always the same. She introduced us not only to the lifestyle especially of the East Village but also made us feel comfortable and at home there. Her responsibility for the society was for her everyday life and became manifest in sentences like: "Democracy needs time”. Only three weeks ago we had a telephone conversation and arranged to meet her this autumn again. It is hard to believe, that she won’t be there. But her inspiring view of life will be with us for the rest of our life. Thank you so much!
