Aunt Dot (or Auntie Dot as we always called her) was such a beautiful woman. She was always there for all of our birthdays, graduations, special events, everything. She would even come and stay with us a few days before just to spend time with us. I can remember lending my room to her every time she came to stay, and I laugh when I think about how she used to clean it up for me because I was such a mess at that age. Or how I would come downstairs in the morning and she would be sitting on the couch, praying her rosary every morning. Or how she used to sit with Lisa, Carol, and I and play barbie fashion show where we would dress up all the barbies we had and she would present them and describe what they were wearing for all of us. She was like a grandmother to the three of us, and I'm glad to have gotten to see her for Christmas. She was a loving, kind, gentle, and caring person, and she was always honest. A rare person to find in this world. And I will miss her so dearly. But I know she lived a full and happy life, and I admired her for her strength to keep on fighting. Her drive to keep living, no matter what life threw her way. I was blessed to have her for 22 years, and those are the memories I will always keep with me.
