Michael J. Russo, Jr.
RUSSO, Michael J., Jr., age 82, of Elmwood Park, died on March 3, 2015. Born and raised in Garfield for 30 years, he lived in Lodi for 8 years before settling in Elmwood Park 44 years ago. He served in the Army during the Korean War in the 24th and 45th Infantry Divisions decorated with the United Nations Medal, National Defense Medal, Korean Campaign Medal with battle stars, and the Combat Infantry Badge, and was a member of the Elmwood Park VFW. He was a point of purchase corrugated designer for 35 years owning P.O.P. Corrugated Displays in Elmwood Park retiring in 1999. He was an entrepreneur and one of the first designers to promote cardboard displays in supermarkets. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Kate (nee Koller), a son, Jerry M. Russo and wife Joni Everett-Russo, two daughters, Laura Russo and Karen Russo, two brothers, Onofrio Louis Russo and Edward Amodio Russo, six grandchildren, Lorelei Loretta Russo and fiancé Kevin Lacatena, Jacqueline Bobbi Russo, Michael Russo, Joan Marie Casey, Anthony Menendez, and Nicole Menendez, and a great-granddaughter, Gianna Lacatena. He is predeceased by his parents Michael and Loretta Russo. Visiting Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral is Saturday, March 7, 2015, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 9:30 am followed by a 10:30 am mass at St. Anne’s RC Church, Fair Lawn. Interment St. Nicholas Cemetery, Lodi.
