HODUM, Carl Kling, age 86, of Garfield died on September 9, 2015. He was born in Clifton residing there for 5 years before moving to Garfield 81 years ago. He served in the US Army as a Corporal during the Korean War, was a 60 year active member of the Lodi American Legion Post 136, and a member of the 8/40 Voyagers. Mr Hodum was employed by the Ford Motor Company in Mahwah before retiring. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, the former Joan Valenti, two daughters, Carla Almobayed and Dawn Hodum, two sons Keith and Richard, six grandchildren, Yvonne Hodum Ogando and husband David, Michael Chermark, Jr., Candice Ovalle and husband Juan, Richie Hodum, Jr., Matthew Drozd, and Krystina Hodum and 9 great-grandchildren, Melinda, David Jr., Nicole, Michael, Candice, Amanda, Joslyn, Jasiah and Giovanni. A memorial service will be Sunday 3PM, September 20, 2015 at the American Legion Post 136 located at 41 Union Street, Lodi, NJ. In lieu of flowers the Hodum family will accept memorial gifts The Hodum family is in the care of the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., Garfield (973-340-7077).
