Francesca "Gina" Di Piazza (Sclafani)
Di PIAZZA, Francesca “Gina” (nee Sclafani), age 84, of Garfield, died on March 30, 2016. Born in Bolognetta, Sicily-Italy, she lived there 24 years moving to Lodi for 12 years before settling in Garfield 48 years ago. She co-owns Leonard Novelty Bakery in Moonachie with her husband since 1962, she worked 20 years for Marcal Paper Mill in Elmwood Park retiring in 1984, and was a parishioner of Mt. Virgin Church in Garfield. Loving wife of 61 years to Jack, beloved mother of Leonard and wife Vincenne, MaryAnn Zuccaro, and Carmelo and wife Tina, and cherished grandmother of Adrienne, Amanda, Jack, Jessica, and Christopher. She is also survived by her siblings, Anthony Sclafani and wife Bernadette, Frank Sclafani and wife Fran, Carmela DiPeri, Antonina LaBarbera, Rosalie LaDuca and husband Angelo, and Josephine Taglierni and husband Salvatore, and loving aunt of many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister, Fortunata Malleo, and her parents, Carmelo and Concetta Sclafani. Visiting Friday 4 to 8 pm. The funeral is Saturday, April 2, 2016, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 8 am followed by a 9 am mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, Garfield. Entombment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Saddle Brook.
