John E.  Davis
DAVIS, John E., age 72, of Elmwood Park, passed away on April 18, 2016. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Wood-Ridge for 30 years and Garfield for 14 years before settling in Elmwood Park 28 years ago. John was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University and was a former Social Worker. He owned a 1964 Rambler Convertible which was his pride and joy, and belonged to the Rambler Club of America. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church in Garfield, and with a beautiful voice, he belonged to the choir for many years. Devoted and caring husband of 46 years to his wife, Rosalie (nee Benanti), a loving father to his son John and wife Valerie, cherished PaPa to his two granddaughters, Ashleigh and Jenna, dear brother of Mari Nemecek and husband Bill, and dear brother-in-law of Sal Benanti and wife Karen. He is also survived by his nieces Jodi, Sally, Tracy, Ellen, and Ann Marie with their husbands, as well as many friends. John was predeceased by his parents Edwin and Helen Davis. His memory will live in our hearts forever. Visiting Wednesday 3 to 7 pm. The funeral is Thursday, April 21, 2016, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 12 noon followed by a 1:30 pm mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, Garfield. Private Cremation. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mt. Virgin Church in Garfield. The Davis family is in the care of the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., Garfield (973-340-7077).
