Nancy Scalia (Granata)
SCALIA, Nancy (nee Granata), age 93, of Garfield, died on May 6, 2016. Born and raised in Lodi for 33 years, she settled in Garfield 60 years ago. She was a garment worker with the I.L.G.W.U. Passaic Local. She was also a hairdresser for many years. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows RC Church, Garfield, and a member of the Garfield VFW Women’s Auxiliary. She is predeceased by her husband, Joseph Scalia in 2008, her brothers, Joseph Granata, Charles Granata, and Peter Granata, and her sisters, Marie Staine and Genevieve Luggiero. She is survived by her son, Nathan and wife Denise, three grandchildren, Michael, Christopher and wife Sharon, and Renee and husband Eric Buzzelli, and four great-grandchildren, Madison, Evan, Bennett and Olivia. Memorial Visiting Saturday, May 21, 2016, 9 am to 10:45 am at the Aloia Funeral Home followed by a 11 am mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, Garfield. In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations to the American Cancer Society. The Scalia family is in the care of the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., Garfield (973-340-7077).
