MELENDEZ, Marina (nee Espinoza,) age 92, of Lodi, died on March 5, 2018. Born and raised in Quito, Ecuador, she lived there for 45 years before emigrating to the United States. She then lived in Garfield for 30 years settling in Lodi 17 years ago. She was a homemaker. Marina is predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Carlos A. Melendez in 2014, and her sons, Jorge and Juan Melendez. She is survived by nine loving children, Edwin Melendez, Henry Melendez, Blanca Melendez, Betty Jaya, Mariana Grados, Judy Gentile, Lupe Miravitlles, Maggie Melendez, and Marcie Melenedez, 26 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren. The funeral is Saturday, March 10, 2018, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 9 am followed by an 11 am mass at Most Holy Name Church, Garfield. Private cremation.
