My sister Popo had a special place in my heart. We will remember her visits to our home, celebrating special occasions, her feistiness, her hospitality and sense of humor. I cherish the memories of her in my home, including her gift of the first elephant to start my extensive elephant collection. We enjoyed visits to her homes in Trinidad and Lancaster and in Laurel Point Care Home in Fort Pierce. I last saw her by our FaceTime visit on June 5th and she was alert and said “ that’s my little sister Cintra”. She was dearly loved and will always be missed. May she find eternal peace in God’s loving embrace.

My sister Tatree Popo and I spent many a happy times together while growing up in Trinidad. She was older than me by almost 4 years but we together with other siblings shared in the chores at home as out mum got ill and these were very happy times. Tatree took on the mantle of chief cook and housekeeper and with some help from other siblings looked after all the younger ones. In later years we spent tomes together in Hackensack, and here in London where I now reside and we visited her several times in Florida. These were always very happy times being reunited. She leaves behind her three daughters Celia, Sandra and Nancy, siblings Mamin Joe, Polly and Cintra with myself and all our families including families of deceased siblings to mourn her. She is now in the arms of her Maker and reunited with her son Suresh and other relations. Rest in Peace my sister.

My sister Popo (Tatree) died suddenly on Sunday morning. I could hardly believe it because I had spoken to her the evening before. she was up and about and said she felt well.
We lived miles apart for the past 60 years but we visited several times and we phoned. She and I were only 2 years apart in age and for the first 24 years of my life we literally spent day and night together and developed lasting bonds of love, caring, sharing respect and working together through lean years
Tatree had a good sense of humour, engaged others’ attention easily, was a good cook and entertainer. When our mother became ill and deeply distressed by the death of our 20 years old brother in a car accident, Tatree as a 14 years old managed meal preparation and household chores with help from our brother Ram and myself quite easily.
My husband and I visited her several times in Trinidad, Hackensack, New Jersey, Florida and most recently in Fort Pierce in January 2020.
With Tatree’s passing a bright light of the Ramkissoon family is out.
May God bless her and keep her. Rest In Peace, Tatree. A special sister.
Sharing condolences with Celia, Sandra, Nancy, Ram, Polly, Joe, Cintra and all the family.

Avocados anyone? Popo delighted in food preparation and sharing: loved her fruit and vegetables; was a great baker: signature cake was pineapple upside down
She was born on exactly the same day as the lady in the red floral guest who passed away 5 years ago.
Always neatly put togather and looking lovely, with a smile that wouldn't quit. Loved all her siblings in ways she expressed constantly....so sad to not have her anymore.
